Celebrating the launch of a new stain from NOTO (a natural cosmetic line)—GENET—Days and NOTO have invited contemporary queer writers to read original works at the launch party, continuing the literary tradition of experimental writing that Jean Genet pioneered.

A percentage of sales of NOTO will go to Audre Lorde Foundation - a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two Spirit, Trans and Gender Non-Conforming People of Color community organizing center.

Gloria Noto chose to name the new product in honor of Jean Genet because, as a young queer, she felt an identity connection to his voice, his sexuality, and his ideas. His writing changed the way she saw the world, inviting deep sensuality and a curiosity to experience.

She says: “this product’s deep, blue based red tone is rich, bold, and has the ability to build upon its depth from a sheer wash to a full on opacity. It felt incredibly correct to name it Genet.”

Join us for an afternoon of wine, cheese, and words.

Jean Genet (1910—1986) was a French social outcast turned writer who, as a novelist, transformed erotic and often obscene subject matter into a poetic vision of the universe and, as a dramatist, became a leading figure in the avant-garde theatre, especially the Theatre of the Absurd.

The first 10 RSVP's will receive a complimentary stain stick.
