Year 1: February 2017 - February 2018
Christina Mesiti is a Los Angeles-based artist originally from Phoenix, Arizona. When not making or teaching art, she is probably either hiking deep into the mountain wilderness or leading workshops and backpacking trips for womxn to feel empowered in their own backcountry abilities.
Walk Log Book is documentation from the first year of her Walk Log project: an ongoing, endless motion poem in which she takes walks, spontaneously and intuitively responding to the surroundings through experimental actions, sculptural gestures, and social interactions. She records the actions in log entries that are continually and instantly accessible to anyone who texts the word "WALK" to (323)744-8807.
The text in the book is the complete log of actions from Christina's first year of walking.
